Unbound Knits takes off!

I did it, I took the plunge (yet again). I started my very own blog and it's scary and exciting! Few of you might remember my previous little crochet blog which I didn't give much attention. Than I co-blogged on Matt's blog which was also great fun. However, I wanted to have my own place on the web, so here we are. A new home for my creativity.

So what do I have to add to the blogging world? There are so many crochet, knit, craft, sewing etc... blogs out there that it would seem pointless to start yet another one. But you know what, I think it's great that there are so many out there. How many times I haven't searched on Google for a certain technique, or inspiration for my next project. Most of the times I'll end up on someones blog! So who knows, one day you might end up on this blog for the same reasons. And if I could help, or inspire at least one person, it would mean I fulfilled my blogging purpose ;-)

So why "Unbound Knits". Let's start with "Knits". I actually started as a 'crocheter' and gruadally moved to knitting. Doesn't mean I'm a knitter now though, I still love to crochet, and it doesn't stop there. I have the ambition to start spinning one day, I love to sew little projects on our simple but functional sewing machine and do many other crafty things. Let's just say I chose "Knits" since that's what I enjoy most at the moment, and I secretly just liked the sound of it!

The "Unbound"-part has a couple of reasons as well. The dictionary says: Freed from bonds or restraints, released, free, able to act at will. And that's how I feel in life and in my crafting.
Besides that, I'm quite literally unbound to the ground under my feet. I work as a singer on cruiseships, and have spend the last 3 years sailing the oceans of the world. I've been all over the place and have seen more countries and sights than I could ever dream of.

This space, this blog, this home, will be my place to not just share what I make, but also let you look into my life a little bit. I'm still traveling a lot for my job, and would love to share some of the things I get to see for my job.
